The
implementation
of
error
recovery
procedures
for
CD-ROM
devices
is
markedly
different
than
those
used
for
magnetic
medium
disc
drives.
At
least
one
level
of
error
correction
(i.e.
CIRC)
is
required
to
unscramble
the
data
stream.
Therefore
the
performance
of
the
drive
may
differ
substantially
from
what would
be
expected
by
sending
the
same
error
recovery
parameters
to
a
magnetic
medium
device.
