      If the remote isn't working with your Sony Stereo Receiver, aim the remote at the remote sensor, ensure the remote's mode matches the receiver's, and that AV2 is selected as the receiver's command mode. Remove any obstructions between the remote and receiver. If the batteries are weak, replace them. Ensure you've selected the correct function on the remote. If the remote is set to operate the TV only, select a source other than TV before operating the receiver.

      If there is no sound or only a very low-level sound from your Sony Stereo Receiver, ensure the speakers and components are securely and correctly connected, the receiver and all components are turned on, and the MASTER VOLUME control is not set at VOL MIN. Also, check that headphones are not connected and that the muting function is off by pressing MUTING. If a short circuit activated the protective device, turn off the receiver, fix the short-circuit issue, and then turn it back on.
