If you're using the remote, press MUTING to deactivate the muting function. For STR-DE595 models, confirm the SPEAKERS button is correctly set (refer to page 22). Also, make sure headphones are disconnected. Finally, if a short circuit occurred, turn off the receiver, resolve the short-circuit, and then turn it back on.

      If your Sony Stereo Receiver remote isn't working, try these solutions: Ensure you're pointing the remote directly at the remote sensor on the receiver. Verify you've selected AV2 as the command mode of the receiver (page 36). Remove any obstructions between the remote and the receiver. If the batteries are weak, replace them with new ones. Ensure you've selected the correct input selector on the remote. If the remote is set to operate the TV only, select a different source or component before using it with the receiver. Note that (STR-DE495 only) The MULTI CH button on the remote is not available.
