Ensure the HOLD function is disabled by sliding the HOLD switch in the opposite direction of the arrow. If moisture has condensed inside, remove the MD and let the recorder sit in a warm place to dry. Also, verify that the battery is correctly inserted and charged or replaced if weak. If you pressed a button while the disc indication was rotating quickly, wait until it slows down. If the issue persists after these steps, and the recorder experienced a mechanical shock or power issue, disconnect all power sources for 30 seconds, then reconnect.
