Pre Measurement Check List
Before you begin measurement or stake out operations, check the following items:
Lenses are clean
Instrument is correctly leveled and Trunnion axis tilt
HA/VA Collimation error
LockNGo Tracker collimation error (if the instrument is equipped)
Laser Pointer beam alignment
Correct radio channel is selected (robotic measurements only)
Measure instrument height
Allow sufficient time for the instrument to adjust to the ambient temperature, see Setup Stability,
page 41
Connecting to an External Data Collector
Spectra Precision Ranger™, T41™, Nomad
®
, and Recon
®
data collectors can be used as data
collectors for the Spectra Precision FOCUS 35 Total Station.
The controller can be connected to the Spectra Precision FOCUS 35 Total Station via cable or via
radio.
Connecting with Cable - Instrument Version StepDrive and
LockNGo
The controller is connected from the Spectra Precision FOCUS 35 Total Station COM port to the USB
or the RS232 connector.
