20. Reinstall front panel by tilting it up and at same time latching hook on end of gear
rail into small notch at bottom left side of front panel to secure end of gear rail to
the front panel
Ensure you do not pinch ribbon cables as front panel is rotated into place
21. Reinstall front panel screws
22. Before replacing magazines, verify front of gear rail is correctly engaged with front
panel
Powering library on with gear rail incorrectly engaged to front panel will result
in move failures and/or robotics damage
Reach into library and attempt to move front of gear rail (where engaged to the
front panel) left to right
o It should not move more than approx. 1/8” in either direction
o If gear rail moves more than above amount, remove screws holding front
panel in place (not necessary to disconnect ribbon cables), reposition gear
rail, replace front panel and verify engagement
23. Reinsert magazines into their original locations
Magazine releases do not need to be depressed to reinsert magazines
24. Reconnect library power cords, power on library
25. After library boot up is complete the user interface will prompt you to select
whether the controller (LCM) or robotics have been replaced - select Robotics
26. Test robotics by initiating the following tape moves from the host software (if no
access to host software, perform the moves through BlueScale front panel):
Slot-to-slot
Slot-to-drive
Drive-to slot
27. Check access port functionality by performing an import/export operation
General > Import/Export > Open Door
If access port does not open/close easily:
o Remove front panel, verify ribbon cables are not causing an obstruction
o Reinstall front panel, ensuring gear rail is correctly engaged to front panel
(ref. step 13). Retest robotics and access port
o If robotics and/or access port are still not functioning properly, contact
