Why SPX FLOW TG GP58-80 has no flow?
    • W
      wwhiteAug 23, 2025
If your SPX FLOW Water Pump has no flow, it might not be priming due to several reasons. The suction lift could be too high. Reduce the difference between the pump and suction tank level, or increase the suction pipe diameter, or reduce the length and simplify the suction pipe. Check for air leaks in the suction line and repair them. If the viscosity is very low, increase the pump speed and reduce axial clearance. Ensure the suction strainer or filter is clear. Verify the pump casing is correctly installed. Finally, check the motor's rotation; for 3-phase drivers, switch two connections, or change the suction and discharge opening, but be careful to check the location of the safety relief valve.

What to do if SPX FLOW TG GP58-80 stalls or has irregular flow?

If your SPX FLOW Water Pump is stalling or experiencing irregular flow, several issues could be the cause. Check if the liquid level in the suction tank is too low and correct the liquid supply or provide a level switch. The pump output might be too high; if so, reduce the pump speed or install a smaller pump, or install a bypass line with a check valve. Air could be getting sucked in; repair any leaks in the suction line, check or replace the shaft seal, check or provide a quench on the shaft seal, or connect plug Bb to the pump discharge to increase pressure in the sealing box. Cavitation could also be the issue; reduce the difference between the pump and suction tank level, increase the suction pipe diameter, or reduce the length and simplify the suction pipe. Finally, the liquid may be...
