LISTENING TO THE RADIO
1) Turn the system on by turning the OFF/VOLUME control knob (27)
clockwise until a click is heard and set the Volume to a medium level.
2) Set the (AM/FM/PH/CD/TAPE) Function Selector (8) to the AM (= MW) or
FM position.
3) Rotate the TUNING control knob (4) to tune in to the desired radio station. If
you tune in to a strong FM Stereo station, the FM ST. Indicator (6) in the

weaker FM station, the reception will automatically switch to Mono.
4) Adjust the OFF/VOLUME control knob (27) to the desired level.
5) For extra Bass effect, connect a separate powered Subwoofer (not supplied)
to the socket on the rear of the cabinet (32).
6) When you have finished listening, turn the OFF/VOLUME (27) control knob
anti-clockwise until a click is heard.
Note: To get clear Radio reception when listening to an AM or
FM Radio broadcasting station, move the GAIN Hi-Lo Switch
(36) on the back panel to the “Lo” position.
Antenna Information
The AM (MW) antenna is inside the cabinet. If AM reception is unsatisfactory,
try repositioning the cabinet slightly until the internal antenna picks up the
strongest signal.
The FM wire Antenna (34) is located on the back of the cabinet. Unwind this
completely. If necessary, adjust the position and direction of this antenna until
you find the position that provides the best reception.
