5.4 Installation Requirements
Pre-Installation Verification
NOTE: For maximum flexibility in future lighting requirements, the building should be designed to
accommodate the maximum weight and power requirements for anticipated ceiling-supported
products.
Study the equipment manual and the equipment drawings to learn the configuration of the system to be installed.
Complete the checklist below. Completing the checklist will aid the installer in understanding these instructions.
• Verify ceiling support. Use the information given in the equipment drawings to verify enough ceiling support has
been provided to accommodate 26 lbs (11.8 kg) for each lighthead assembly.
• Verify that the correct ceiling support method has been determined and that the correct support materials have
been obtained.
• Verify the correct location for the lighthead(s) in the room.
• Consult the equipment drawings for layout information.
• Ensure electrical service for each lighting system installation is complete (including lockout, junction box, conduit,
fittings, and lighthead power cable) and capable of being locked out. These items are not furnished (except
junction box) or installed by STERIS.
