N While holding the cap depressed,
turn it clockwise until it engages in
position.
N Fold the grip flush with the top of the
cap.
Checking tank cap with hinged grip is
properly locked
– The lug on the grip must fully
engage the recess (arrow).
N Grip the cap – it is properly locked if
it cannot be turned or removed.
If tank cap with hinged grip can be
turned or removed
Bottom of cap is twisted in relation to
top:
N Place the cap on the opening and
rotate it counterclockwise until it
engages the filler neck.
N Continue rotating the cap
counterclockwise (about a quarter
turn) – this causes the bottom of the
cap to be turned to the correct
position.
N Turn and lock the cap clockwise –
see sections on "Closing" and
"Checking security of cap".
