18.1 Troubleshooting the KombiEngine and Battery
18 Troubleshooting
Fault LEDs on the
battery
Cause Remedy
The KombiEngine
does not start up
when switched on.
1 LED flashing
green.
State of charge of the
battery is too low.
Charge battery as described in the User Manual
for chargers STIHL AL 101, 300, 500.
1 LED emits red
light.
The battery is too warm or
too cold.
Remove the battery.
Allow the battery to cool down or warm up.
3LEDs
flashing red.
There is a malfunction in
the KombiEngine.
Remove the battery.
Clean electrical contacts in the battery
compartment.
Insert battery.
Switch on the KombiEngine.
If 3 LEDs continue to flash red: Do not use your
KombiEngine and contact your STIHL dealer for
assistance.
3 LEDs emit red
light.
The KombiEngine is too
hot.
Remove the battery.
Allow the KombiEngine to cool down.
4LEDs
flashing red.
There is a fault in the
battery.
Remove battery and reinsert it.
Switch on the KombiEngine.
If 4 LEDs continue to flash red: Do not use the
battery and contact your STIHL dealer for
assistance.
No electrical contact
between KombiEngine and
battery.
Remove the battery.
Clean electrical contacts in the battery
compartment.
Insert battery.
The KombiEngine or
battery is damp.
Allow the KombiEngine or battery to dry.
Trigger depressed before
operating the release slide.
Switch on the KombiEngine as described in this
User Manual.
The KombiEngine
cuts out during
operation.
3 LEDs emit red
light.
The KombiEngine is too
hot.
Remove the battery.
Allow the KombiEngine to cool down.
