18 Troubleshooting
Fault LEDs on the
battery
Cause Remedy
The KombiEngine
does not start up
when switched on.
1 LED flashing
green.
State of charge of the
battery is too low.
► Charge battery as described in the User Manual
for chargers STIHL AL 101, 300, 500.
1 LED emits red
light.
The battery is too warm or
too cold.
► Remove the battery.
► Allow the battery to cool down or warm up.
3LEDs
flashing red.
There is a malfunction in
the KombiEngine.
► Remove the battery.
► Clean electrical contacts in the battery
compartment.
► Insert battery.
► Switch on the KombiEngine.
► If 3 LEDs continue to flash red: Do not use your
KombiEngine and contact your STIHL dealer for
assistance.
3 LEDs emit red
light.
The KombiEngine is too
hot.
► Remove the battery.
► Allow the KombiEngine to cool down.
4LEDs
flashing red.
There is a fault in the
battery.
► Remove battery and reinsert it.
► Switch on the KombiEngine.
► If 4 LEDs continue to flash red: Do not use the
battery and contact your STIHL dealer for
assistance.
No electrical contact
between KombiEngine and
battery.
► Remove the battery.
► Clean electrical contacts in the battery
compartment.
► Insert battery.
The KombiEngine or
battery is damp.
► Allow the KombiEngine or battery to dry.
Trigger depressed before
operating the release slide.
► Switch on the KombiEngine as described in this
User Manual.
The KombiEngine
cuts out during
operation.
3 LEDs emit red
light.
The KombiEngine is too
hot.
► Remove the battery.
► Allow the KombiEngine to cool down.
