Practical hints for best results
Before switching on: Before cooking, check that any accessories that are
not required are removed from the oven.
Preheating: Always preheat the oven before placing food inside the oven
chamber. You can choose not to preheat when using a fan oven mode;
however, in such a case you may need to extend the given cooking time by
approximately 10minutes.
Placing food into the oven: Place cooking and baking dishes in the centre
of the oven shelf and leave gaps between dishes to allow air to circulate.
Always wait until the oven has reached the set temperature before placing
food inside the oven chamber.
Cooking temperatures and times: The cooking guidelines on the following
pages give approximate times and temperatures for some foods that can
be cooked in the oven. Use this information as a guide only and adjust
according to your own experience and preference. However, if information
given in recipe books is signicantly different from the values included in this
instruction manual, please apply the instructions from the manual.
Baking tray and other bakeware: We recommend using the baking/
drip tray provided with your oven. Black trays conduct heat better and
shorten the baking time. Always place other baking dishes and trays on the
supplied oven shelf. Bakeware and trays with bright or shiny surfaces are not
recommended when using the conventional heating method (top and bottom
element, no fan). Use of such tins can result in undercooking the base of
cakes.
Baking times: Before taking a cake out of the oven, always check if it is
ready using a wooden skewer. Insert the skewer into the cake and if it is
ready, the skewer should come out dry and clean. After switching off the
oven it is advisable to leave the cake inside for about 5 minutes.
Roasting meat: Covering a roast or wrapping it in foil will preserve its juices
and the oven will remain cleaner. However, the roast will cook faster in an
uncovered pan.
