Why don't my Summers Paint Sprayer booms go into transport rests?
    • C
      cartershannonSep 16, 2025
If the booms do not go into transport rests, it may be because the sprayer is on uneven terrain; move the sprayer to a level location. The inner boom spring cushion could be out of adjustment; adjust the inner boom fold spring cushion. The inner boom spring cushion assembly might also be out of adjustment; adjust the inner boom fold spring cushion assembly. Finally, the inner boom eyebolt may be bent or broken; adjust or replace the inner boom eyebolt.

What to do if my Summers Paint Sprayer pump does not develop pressure?
    • D
      Donald JonesAug 25, 2025
If the hydraulic motor is not humming and the pump isn't developing pressure, check the following: * Ensure the oil flow direction is correct by reversing the hydraulic hoses or moving the hydraulic lever in the opposite direction. * Make sure there's enough water to prime the pump by filling the tank above the pump level. * Confirm the tractor engine is running at normal field RPM speed. * Check the bypass screw on the side of the hydraulic motor for proper adjustment. * Inspect for a frozen impeller and split the water pump to free it if necessary. * Verify you have the correct pump. If these steps don't resolve the issue, consult the Hydraulic or PTO Pump manual for further assistance.

What should I do if my electric ball valves do not work properly on my Summers Paint Sprayer?
    • W
      Walter FisherAug 26, 2025
If the electric ball valves aren't working correctly, first check the voltage and connections. If the issue persists, disconnect the power for 20 seconds to reset the internal breaker. Also, verify that the power and ground wires on the console are correctly connected, with the red wire to positive and the white wire to ground.

What to do if booms contact ground often on Summers Paint Sprayer?
    • P
      Pamela BassAug 27, 2025
If the booms frequently hit the ground, it may be because the terrain is too rough or uneven, so slow down. If the terrain is too rough for a suspended boom, raise the booms. An unstable sprayer and tractor can cause this, so spread out the wheel c-c’s to gain stability. If the booms do not self-level, refer to problem 11. A malfunctioning boom suspension can cause this, so check and adjust the accumulator pressure. Improper tire pressure can also be a factor, so adjust tire pressures to specifications. Finally, ensure that the booms are level in the spray position and recheck.

Why don't booms self-level on Summers Paint Sprayer?
    • C
      Catherine Johnson MDSep 18, 2025
If the booms don't self-level, the travel speed may be too fast for the terrain; loosen the bolts so the boom can move as needed. The swing arms may not be greased; lubricate the swing arms and parallel links. Finally, the wear plates may be rubbing the guides hard; check for worn pivot bolts or adjust the boom wear plate guides.

What to check if LEFT & RIGHT TIP LIFT & MAIN LIFT circuits on Switch Box don’t operate on Summers Paint Sprayer?
    • H
      Hannah ByrdSep 9, 2025
If the LEFT & RIGHT TIP LIFT & MAIN LIFT circuits on the Switch Box don’t operate, it's likely due to an open circuit on the Control Grip Plug on the side of the Switch Box. Tighten the plug to complete the circuit, or replace the missing plug.

Why do booms lead or lag too much in relation to the cart on my Summers Paint Sprayer?
    • M
      michael45Sep 9, 2025
If the booms lead or lag excessively, the spring clevis adjustment is likely incorrect. Adjust the spring clevis so that when the spring is compressed, the coils never touch. Also, the eye bolts may be out of adjustment. Proper boom lead adjustment occurs when the spring clevis is compressed and there is zero boom lead.

What causes a Summers Paint Sprayer to not quit spraying when the master boom switch is turned off?
    • X
      xdavisSep 3, 2025
If the sprayer continues to spray even after the master boom switch is turned off, ensure that the sprayer remote is turned on while the console is operating. Also, check the diaphragm caps on the nozzle bodies to see if they are shutting off properly. If not, the diaphragm gaskets may need cleaning, or the diaphragm spring may not be strong enough, so replace the diaphragm.

What should I do if my Summers Paint Sprayer booms drift forward during field operation?
    • K
      Keith GillSep 1, 2025
If the booms drift forward during field operation, check for debris under pressure relief cartridge C, as the pressure relief cartridge C may not be functioning properly. Replace the pressure relief cartridge if necessary. Also, you can install an 8L1430 or 8L1432 pilot check valve kit per the provided instructions.
