What causes a Summers Paint Sprayer to not quit spraying when the master boom switch is turned off?
    • X
      xdavisSep 3, 2025
If the sprayer continues to spray even after the master boom switch is turned off, ensure that the sprayer remote is turned on while the console is operating. Also, check the diaphragm caps on the nozzle bodies to see if they are shutting off properly. If not, the diaphragm gaskets may need cleaning, or the diaphragm spring may not be strong enough, so replace the diaphragm.

What should I do if my Summers Paint Sprayer boom suspension does not work?
    • D
      douglas12Sep 2, 2025
If the boom suspension isn't working, first ensure that you are not using cylinder stops to control boom height; remove any vertical height cylinder stops so the boom is held on the accumulator. Check the suspension accumulator for an inaccurate nitrogen charge and replace or recharge it if necessary. Look for any hydraulic system leaks and repair them. Finally, verify that the tire pressure is correct and adjust it to the specified levels.

What should I do if my Summers Paint Sprayer booms drift forward during field operation?
    • K
      Keith GillSep 1, 2025
If the booms drift forward during field operation, check for debris under pressure relief cartridge C, as the pressure relief cartridge C may not be functioning properly. Replace the pressure relief cartridge if necessary. Also, you can install an 8L1430 or 8L1432 pilot check valve kit per the provided instructions.

How do I fix a Summers Paint Sprayer regulator valve that does not regulate pressure?
    • K
      Kristin MahoneyAug 31, 2025
If the regulator valve isn't regulating pressure, ensure the master switch and at least one boom switch are ON. If you have a 205 model, the regulator valve might be in a neutral position; hold the pressure adjust switch until the valve moves into the adjusting range. Check for improper voltage or poor electrical connections by listening to the motor while the switch is activated. If nothing is heard, check the voltage and connections; if the motor runs but the pressure doesn't change, replace the regulator valve. If you have a 450 model, make sure the Rate Switch is set to manual.

What causes excessive bouncing of booms when spraying with Summers Paint Sprayer?
    • C
      colemandarrellAug 30, 2025
Excessive bouncing during spraying can occur if the terrain is too rough or uneven, so slow down to the factory-recommended 5-8 MPH. A malfunctioning nitrogen-charged accumulator can also cause this, so check the nitrogen pressure and replace or recharge if necessary. Finally, an improperly adjusted cable can contribute to bouncing, so adjust the cable to reduce boom bounce.

Why won't outer booms fold in on Summers Paint Sprayer?
    • C
      Curtis GarrettAug 29, 2025
If the outer booms won't fold in, it could be due to a weak or non-functioning solenoid on either or both part 2 fold cylinders. Verify the voltage and correct operation of all 4 solenoids in this circuit: 2 on the main block and 1 on each cylinder. Low voltage from the tractor can also cause this issue, as this circuit requires more power because it uses 4 solenoids simultaneously.

Why won't inner booms fold out on Summers Paint Sprayer?
    • K
      Kimberly FisherAug 28, 2025
The failure of the inner booms to fold out may be due to a malfunctioning safety switch circuit. Check the safety switch above the right-hand part 2 fold cylinder for proper adjustment. Also, inspect the connector in the wiring harness located by the right-hand tip lift cylinder. A broken eye-bolt, which is not visible from the cab, could also be the cause, so replace the broken eye-bolt if necessary.

Why am I not getting the correct application rate for a given pressure setting on my Summers Paint Sprayer?
    • J
      Joshua StephensAug 27, 2025
If you're not achieving the expected application rate, ensure the controller isn't in Rate 1 or Rate 2 position; move the Rate Control Switch to the Manual position while holding the Increase switch up with the Master Switch and at least one boom switch in the ON position. Check for any restrictions in the plumbing by cleaning or replacing the Main Line Strainer, checking for suction-side restrictions, and cleaning or replacing Boom Line and Nozzle Body Strainers, as well as spray tips. Also, verify that the Crossover Plumbing Valve is in the CLOSED position and the Tank Rinse Valve is off. Finally, inspect the pump impeller for cracks or splits and replace if damaged.

What to do if booms contact ground often on Summers Paint Sprayer?
    • P
      Pamela BassAug 27, 2025
If the booms frequently hit the ground, it may be because the terrain is too rough or uneven, so slow down. If the terrain is too rough for a suspended boom, raise the booms. An unstable sprayer and tractor can cause this, so spread out the wheel c-c’s to gain stability. If the booms do not self-level, refer to problem 11. A malfunctioning boom suspension can cause this, so check and adjust the accumulator pressure. Improper tire pressure can also be a factor, so adjust tire pressures to specifications. Finally, ensure that the booms are level in the spray position and recheck.

What should I do if my electric ball valves do not work properly on my Summers Paint Sprayer?
    • W
      Walter FisherAug 26, 2025
If the electric ball valves aren't working correctly, first check the voltage and connections. If the issue persists, disconnect the power for 20 seconds to reset the internal breaker. Also, verify that the power and ground wires on the console are correctly connected, with the red wire to positive and the white wire to ground.
