Patch Information
If you are installing Solaris

2.5.1 HW:11/97 on a Sun
™
Workstation
™
that has an
Elite3D UPA graphics card installed, you may only install this operating
environment through the console.
■ Following the installation of the Elite3D UPA graphics card software, it is
recommended that you install patch 105791-05 or later. This patch is available
through SunService.
■ Patch 105789-01 is applied as part of the Elite3D UPA graphics card software
installation process.
If you are installing Solaris 2.6 HW:3/98 on a Sun Workstation that has an Elite3D
UPA graphics card installed, you may only install this operating environment
through the console.
■ Following the installation of the Elite3D UPA graphics card software, it is
recommended that you install patch 105363-06 or later. This patch is available
through SunService.
PCI Card Remove and Replace
(From the Ultra 5 PCI Card Slot 2)
This section of the product note contains changes to Section 10.3.1 and 10.3.2 that
were made after release of the Sun Ultra 5/10 Service Manual.
To remove and replace a PCI card from card slot 2 of the Ultra 5, proceed as follows.
Removing a PCI Card
1. Power off the system unit:
a. Back up system files as necessary.
