Why does espresso pour in drips from my Sunbeam CAFE DUO?

  If the espresso from your Sunbeam Coffee Maker pours out in drips, it could be because the coffee grinds are too fine. Try changing to a coarser grind. Also, you might be using too much coffee in the filter basket, so dose less coffee grinds. If you're tamping the coffee grinds too hard, apply less force during tamping. The machine may also have scale build up, requiring a descaling cycle.

Instead, store coffee beans in a dry, airtight container in a cool, dark cupboard. You might also be using a custom extraction temperature; try using the default 92°C extraction temperature. A cold cup or glass prior to espresso pour can also cause this; pour hot water from the hot water tap into the cup before extracting espresso. Finally, the group head or group handle may not be warmed before use; hold the empty filter basket into the group handle, insert group handle in the group head and press the 1 CUP button to allow water to run through.

The coffee grind might be too fine, so try changing to a coarser grind. You may be using too much coffee in the filter basket, so reduce the amount of coffee grinds. Also, if you're tamping the coffee grinds too hard, apply less force. Make sure the top edge of the filter basket is clean of loose coffee grinds. The group head inside rim, silicon seal or shower head might be dirty, so clean the parts with a damp cloth. Another possible cause is a damaged or worn group head silicone seal.

  If there is no or low pressure reading on the espresso pressure gauge of your Sunbeam Coffee Maker, it could be due to several reasons. The coffee grinds may be too coarse, so change to a finer grind. If using a coffee grinder, check its calibration. You might not be using enough coffee in the filter basket, so dose more coffee grinds. Also, the grinds might not be tamped (compacted) enough, so tamp more firmly. Using stale or old coffee or pre-ground coffee can also cause this issue. If using pre-ground coffee, use the dual wall filter baskets provided.
