Basic White Loaf
2teaspoons(7g)dryyeast
1tablespoonsugar
¼cupwarmwater
½cupwarmmilk
60gbutterormargarine,melted
1¾cupsplainflour
1teaspoonsalt
1.Combineyeast,sugar,water,milkand
meltedbutterinasmallbowl;allowto
standinawarmplacefor10minutesor
untilmixturestartstobubble.
2.Usingtheprocessingbowlfittedwiththe
universal ‘s’ blade,combinetheflourand
salt.
3.Addyeastmixture(preparedinstep1)and
processuntildoughisformed.
Note:Becarefulnottoprocessforlonger
than20seconds.
4.Removeuniversal 's' blade.Turndoughout
ontoalightlyflouredsurfaceandknead
gently.
5.Placedoughintoagreasedbowl,coverand
allowtoriseinawarmplaceuntildoubled
insize.Thiswilltakeapproximately40-45
minutes.
6.Turndoughoutofbowl,punchdown,fold
sidestocentreofdoughandshapeintoa
loaf.Placeintoagreased20cmx10cmx
5cmbreadtin.Coverandallowtoriseina
warmplaceuntildoubledinsize.Preheat
ovento200°C.
7.Bakeforapproximately30minutes.A
bakedloafshouldsoundhollowwhen
tappedwiththeknuckles.
