Chapter 3: Installation and Setup
Web-based Management Utility
You can use the web-based management utility on a web browser to congure the switch
module. You can access the conguration menu by a network connection.
Command Line Interface
Conguring the switch can be done using a command line interface via telnet or by using
the serial console interface.
Accessing CLI through Telnet
To access the command line interface via Telnet, follow the steps below.
1. Connect a PC to a network that is accessible to the switch. For example, connect a PC
to any of the front panel ports of the switch and make sure the PC has an IP address on
the same subnet as the switch management IP.
2. In the PC, start a telnet client session with the switch management IP (The switch's
management IP can be found from a serial console connection.) This brings up the
switch’s command line interface for user login.
3. Enter the default username (ADMIN) and the unique password to login to the switch.
The factory unique password can be found on the sticker that is stuck at the bottom of
the switch.
4. To view the switch congurations use show commands and to congure the switch type
cong term to get access to the conguration commands. For help, type ? or help.
Accessing CLI through a Serial Console

3. Choose the serial port connected with the switch and congure with the following

Baudrate = 115200
Data bits = 8
Parity = None
