Reliable Ground
A reliable ground (earth) must be maintained at all times. To ensure this, the rack itself should
be grounded. Particular attention should be given to power supply connections other than the
direct connections to the branch circuit (i.e. the use of power strips, etc.).
A.5 Rack Mounting Instructions
This chapter provides information on installing the switch into a rack unit with the rail kit.
There are a variety of rack units on the market, which may mean the assembly procedure
will dier slightly. You should also refer to the installation instructions that came with the rack
unit you are using.

• Your switch may dier from the illustrations in this manual.
Installation Location
The switch can be mounted in a standard 19" equpiment rack on a horizontal surface.
Mounting
The switch can be mounted in a rack by using the rack bracket or rail rack-mounting kit
provided.The installation instructions are shown below.
