STARTING THE ENGINE
Before attempting to start the engine,
make sure to follow these steps.
1. Turn the key to the “ON” position.
2. Set the engine stop switch to the
“RUN” position.
When the Engine is Cold:
1. Move the choke lever all the way
toward you. Close the throttle
completely.
2. Squeeze the clutch lever and push
the electric starter button.
3. Immediately after the engine
starts, keep the engine speed at
3600 – 4200 r/min by varying the
choke lever position.
4. Move the choke lever to the “OFF”
position approximately 30 sec-
onds after the engine starts. It
may be necessary to use the
choke longer than 30 seconds in
extremely cold weather.
When the Engine is Warm:
Squeeze the clutch lever, close the
throttle and push the electric starter
button.
NOTE: Operation of the choke is not
necessary to start the engine.
NOTE: Open the throttle 1/8 and push
the electric starter button when the
engine is hard to start.
CAUTION
Engaging the starter motor for
more than five seconds at a time
can damage the ATV.
The starter motor and wiring har-
ness may overheat.
If the engine does not start after
several tries, check the fuel supply
and ignition system.
WARNING
Running your ATV indoors where
there is little or no ventilation can
be hazardous.
When breathed in, exhaust gases
from the ATV can cause death or
severe injury.
Always run your ATV outdoors
where there is fresh air.
