DRIVE CHAIN CLEANING AND
OILING
Clean and oil the chain as follows:
1. Wash the chain with kerosene.
Kerosene will lubricate and clean
the chain.
2. Allow the chain to dry, then oil the
links with a Suzuki chain lube or
an equivalent chain lubricant.
Adjusting the Drive Chain
The drive chain should be adjusted so
there is 15 – 25 mm (0.6 – 1.0 in) of
slack, as shown above.
To adjust the drive chain, follow the
procedure below:
1. Remove the screws 1, and chain
cover 2.
WARNING
Kerosene can be hazardous.
Kerosene is flammable. Children
or pets may be harmed from con-
tact with kerosene.
Keep flames and smoking materi-
als away from kerosene. Keep
children and pets away from kero-
sene. Dispose of used kerosene
properly.
