Leveling the Rheometer
Optimum performance depends upon the instrument being level and in a sturdy position to avoid the possi-
bility of rocking. To check and see whether your instrument is level, simply place a bubble spirit level on
the Smart Swap base, or installed temperature system (for example, Peltier Plate). If the instrument is not
levelled, screw the adjustable feet (located at each corner of the instrument) either in or out, as necessary.
Check the spirit level after each adjustment.
Once you have the instrument levelled correctly, press each corner of the instrument to check that all four
feet are in contact with the laboratory bench. Any movement caused by pressing should be rectified by
adjusting the feet, and then rechecking the level. An 'L'- shaped level with a bubble in each arm is the most
convenient type to use for this process.
