TB7300 Installation and Operation Manual Description 15
© Tait International Limited December 2022
1.4 Software Application Details
1.4.1 P25/AS-IP
With the P25/AS-IP software application, the TB7300 is interoperable with
TB9400 base stations, and therefore operates in P25 conventional networks
and analog conventional networks. It operates as a stand-alone repeater/
base station, or as part of a channel group, providing receiver voting and
simulcast transmission. All air interfaces and system types support
simulcast operation.
In a P25 conventional network, the TB7300 operates as a single or wide
area conventional repeater, with receiver voting and optional simulcast.
Dispatch connection is via three distinct interfaces:
P25 standard DFSI connection (up to three connections simultaneously)
Analog line
Tait P25 Console Gateway, supporting conversion between P25 and
analog consoles with MDC1200 signaling
In an analog conventional network, the base station can operate as a
repeater with CTCSS or DCS subaudible signaling.
The base station can also operate as part of an analog conventional
simulcast network and is fully IP-connected. The base station also features
an internally integrated voter, and therefore requires no external voter.
For more information on these applications, refer to the Help and
appropriate Tait System Manual.
1.4.2 P25 Gateway Key Management
The base station has a P25 gateway function which allows an analog
console to be part of a P25 talkgroup. The gateway performs P25 vocoding
and encryption as part of the conversion between the balanced analog line
console connection and the P25 air interface. The functions supported are:
A call profile on the WebUI defines the conversion details. The
gateway has one single call profile in this release.
The technician defines the call type (analog or P25), the talkgroup
address, network access code (NAC), clear or encrypted operation as
part of the profile
The gateway supports a single P25 talkgroup, with or without
encryption
The gateway does not support individual calling, although the gateway
can send uplink individual call audio to the console (if it is clear audio
or if it has the decryption key)
The gateway supports both AES-256 and single-DES encryption
