Starting and Stopping the Engine
Starting in Cold Weather
1. Make sure that the glow lamp (8) is lit.
(The glow lamp lights for 15 seconds when
coolant temperature is at –10°C (14F°).
2. After the glow lamp (8) turns off, then turn
the key to the START position and start the
engine.
3. Once the engine starts, release the key.
The key automatically returns to the ON
position.
4. Check that the warning lamps are off.
5. Warm up the engine.

Starting the Engine
WARNING
� Clear the area of all persons.
�
Sound horn to alert everyone around the
machine.
IMPORTANT: Donot run the starter motor
for more than 15 consecutive seconds.
If the engine fails to start, wait for 30
seconds to protect the battery, and then
try again to start the engine.
Normal Starting
1. Turn the key to the START position and
start the engine.
2. Once the engine starts, release the key.
The key automatically returns to the ON
position.
3. Check that the warning lamps are off.
4. Warm up the engine.
