Machine Operation
Traveling the Machine
WARNING
Never allow anyone to enter the slewing
(swing) radius and machine path.

Signal your intention to move by
sounding the horn.

There are blind spots to the rear of the
machine.
If necessary, swing the cab around
before backing up to check that the area
is safe and clear.

Check the position of the upperstructure
in relation to the undercarriage. If the
steering axle is not located beneath the
cab, changes in direction and steering
wheel turns will not coincide.

Avoid sudden stops, start or turns.

Do not raise the safety lock lever while
traveling. This is dangerous, since
raising the safety lock lever will cause
the parking brake to operate and apply
the brake abruptly.

Do not switch off the starter switch
while traveling. Doing so will cause
sudden braking and is dangerous.

Avoid crossing over obstacles whenever
possible. If you must do so, keep the
bucket close to the ground and travel
slowly. Never cross obstacles if they will
seriously tilt the machine (to an angle of
15° or greater).

When traveling on rough terrain or when
carrying a load, lower the load and travel
slowly.

Remove any obstacles in the machine’s
path.
Preparing for Travel
1. Cab facing forward over steering axle,
hoe equipment straight out in front,
dozer blade / outriggers (option) fully up.
2. Put the machine in the travel posture.
Road Travel Posture
• With 2-Piece Boom
Raise the boom fully, lower the intermediate
boom fully, position the arm vertically and
rollback the bucket.
• With Mono-Boom
Move the boom and arm to set them so
that the position pointers (1), (2) are in the
green ranges.
