“ACOUSTIC CONTROLS
This unit includes separate controls for independent ad-
justment
of
treble,
mid-range
and
bass
sound,
and
also
in-
cludes
boost/filter
selectors@
for
immediate
amplification
or ‘‘cut’' of bass and treble sound.
In
particular,
the
center-frequency
control@
and
the
band-
level
control@
can
be
used
in
combination
for
continuous
variation,
at
a
level
of
+8
dB,
of
the
center
frequency
within
a
range
of
250
Hz
to
5
kHz.
This
means
that
it
is
possible,
to
some extent, to make correction of a ‘‘peak’’ or ‘‘dip’’ in the
mid-range of the frequency response of the equipment being
used (speakers or phono cartridge, for example), or to em-
phasize only a singer, or to emphasize only the mid-range
of sound.
Although the standard setting position for each control (tre-
ble, mid-range and bass) is the center position, it is pos-
sible to make variations (emphasis or attenuation) of each
in accordance with listening room conditions (arrangement
of furniture, wall covering, floor covering, etc.) and with
personal preference. To do so, set the acoustic control
switch@ to the ‘'ON” position, and then make the adjust-
ments as desired.
