parts (lining, disc and plates) for wear, cracks, warpage, corrosion,
elongated holes, etc. Refer to maintenance manual (see Cleveland

Visually inspect for corrosion cracks or other visible damage. Check
inlet fitting bosses and anchor bolt lugs for cracks. Check inlet flares
on aircraft side of rigid hydraulic tubing for cracks, check for fluid
leaks.

Check back plate attachment bolts for correct torque, no loosing

Check brake cylinder anchor bolts in torque plate bushings for
sloppiness.

Visually check torque plate for corrosion, cracks, loose anchor bolt
bushings or other visible damage. Anchor bolt bushings must be flat
against torque plate surface.

Inspect brake lining for edge chipping and surface deterioration.
Normal use will result in some edge chipping. A maximum of 10
percent surface loss is acceptable. Minor accumulation of metal
chips in lining is normal and not detrimental. Elongated rivet or pin
holes is cause for replacement. Smearing of lining material on the
brake disc which exceeds 30% of surface is cause for replacement.
Check wear: if it is < 2.54 mm (0.100 inch ) it must be replaced.
