1.2. Measurement Range (Over voltage range) definition
Higher Category indicates Higher Over Voltage Electric environment. Tester
designed for CAT III environment can withstand higher voltage than the tester
designed for CAT II
To avoid any serious accident while measurement, better to use Tester higher
category for the testing environment. For example, do not use Tester with CAT at
testing environment CAT II,III, or IV
