b. Initialize the oscilloscope:
H Press save/recall SETUP.
H Press the main-menu button Recall Factory Setup.
H Press the side-menu button OK Confirm Factory Init.
2. Verify that all input channels operate: Do the following substeps ā test
CH 1 first, skipping substep a since CH 1 is already set up for verification
from step 1.
a. Select an unverified channel:
H Press WAVEFORM OFF to remove from display the channel
just verified.
H Press the front-panel button that corresponds to the channel you are
to verify.
H Move the probe to the channel you selected.
b. Set up the selected channel:
H Press AUTOSET to obtain a viewable, triggered display in the
selected channel.
H Set the vertical SCALE to 100 mV. Use the vertical POSITION
knob to center the waveform vertically on screen.
H Set the horizontal SCALE to 200 īs.
H Press TRIGGER MENU.
H Press the main-menu button Coupling; then press the side menu-
button HF Rej.
c. Verify that the channel is operational: Confirm that the following
statements are true.
H The vertical scale readout for the channel under test shows a setting
of 100 mV, and a square-wave probe-compensation signal about five
divisions in amplitude is on screen. (See Figure 4--1 on page 4--3 to
locate the readout.)
H The vertical POSITION knob moves the signal up and down the
screen when rotated.
H Turning the vertical SCALE knob counterclockwise decreases the
amplitude of the waveform on-screen, turning the knob clockwise
increases the amplitude, and returning the knob to 100 mV returns
the amplitude to about five divisions.
