b. Initialize the oscilloscope:
H Press save/recall SETUP.
H Press the main-menu button Recall Factory Setup.
H Press the side-menu button OK Confirm Factory Init.
c. Modify the default settings:
H Set the horizontal SCALE to1ms.
H Press SHIFT; then ACQUIRE MENU.
H Press the main-menu button Mode; then press the side-menu
button Hi Res.
H Press DISPLAY.
H Press the main-menu button Graticule; then press the side-menu
button Frame.
H Press MEASURE.
H Press the main-menu button Select Measurement for CHx; then
press the side-menu button Mean. (You will have to press MORE
several times to access the Mean measurement.)
H Press CLEAR MENU.
2. Confirm input channels are within limits for offset accuracy: Do the
following substeps — test CH 1 first, skipping substep a since CH 1 is
already set up to be checked from step 1.
WARNING. High voltages are used in this procedure. Before doing this or any
other procedure in this manual, read the Safety Summary found at the beginning
of this manual.
a. Select an unchecked channel:
H Press WAVEFORM OFF to remove the channel just confirmed
from the display. Then, press the front-panel button that corresponds
to the channel you are to confirm.
H Press MEASURE.
H Press the main-menu button Select Measurement for CHx; then
press the side-menu button Mean. (You will have to press MORE
several times to access the Mean measurement.)
