7. Use the general purpose knob to set the comparison sensitivity
value. As signal noise and intensity levels affect the displayed
waveform, you will need to exper im e nt with the s ensit ivity setting
to reduce the n umber of false anomalies due to signal noise.
8. Use the Waveform Intensity front-panel button t o adjust the
persistence of the anomaly w aveform .
9. Once you have set the sensitivity value to reduce or elimin ate false
anomalies, push one or more side m enu buttons to select the actions
to perform when the oscillosco pe detects an a no maly.
10. To restart WaveAlert while in Stop On Anomaly, push the Acquire
Run/Stop front panel button.
WaveAlert Key P oin ts.
You can use WaveAlert to monitor up to four wa vefo rms or DPO
Math waveforms. However, adjacent waveforms can not touch
or overlap on t he scr
een.
To increase your chances of capturing an anomaly by acquiring
the maximum numbe
r of waveforms per second, set Acquire >
Horizontal Resolution to Fast Trigger (500 points).
When WaveAlert
is on , the front-panel Waveform Intensity knob
controls the persistence of the anomalous wa vefo rm instead o f
waveform intensity.
To capture a very random event (minutes to hours), enable
the Wfms To Disk On Anomaly function to write anomalous
waveform dat
atoaUSBflash drive file in .isf format. The number
of files you can save depends on the waveform record length . You
can determine when the anomaly occurred by checking the file
create dat
eandtime.
You can use WaveAlert on DPO math waveform s.
Changing the vertical or horizontal oscilloscope settings does not
affect the sensitivity setting. The sensitivity is calculated from t he
new wav
eform data after changing the oscilloscope settings.
