Use a suitable drift punch to remove the bearing races (Fig-K). BE CAREFUL NOT TO DAMAGE THE
SPINDLE HOUSING
Spindle Housing Inspection
Inspect the bearings and bearing cups for nicks, pitting, discoloration and wear. If any exist, replace the
bearing and bearing cup. Inspect the housing for cracks, wear at the bearing cup bores, or impact
damage.
Replace if necessary. Inspect the spindle shaft for pulled bolt threads, cracks, adjusting nut thread
damage, or machined surface damage. Replace if required.
