2nd : |Par1] — Memory Partition Key Sequence
Each data memory (except memory 0) can be converted to seven program
steps The fewer the number ot data memories the greater the number ot
program steps available
To partition the memory, first determine the number of data memonea and
program steps needed Press 2nd part] followed by the hey representing
the desired number ot data memonea
The following table lists the possible partition settings

Note : Program memory always begins with step number 00. For example if
you have 7 program steps available, the step numbers are 00 through 06
For example, to configure three data memories, press 2nd part] 3
Pt (tor "partition’•) appears In the display, tallowed by (he number ol program
steps and data memories available (PI 70 3 indicates that 70 program steps
and 3 data memories are available | If 10, it. or 12 data memories are
available, the display indicates A. b, or C. respectively
Note : It a program is shorter than the number of step® allowed by the
current partitioning, the data memories corresponding to the remaining steps
are available However, they are not protected and may be lost if you later
lengthen the program
To display the current state ol partitioning, press 2nd [Part] 0
Increasing the number ol program steps (by reducing the number ol data
memories) does not affect any previously entered program steps
Note : If you attempt lo Increase the number ot data memories so that they
interfere with a program in memory, an error occurs and the partition iB
