(4)Donotattempttorepairormodifyapropellerspinnerorspinnercomponents.Welding,riveting
orbondingarenotpermittedonthespinnerorspinnercomponents.
(5)Donotllanydamagedareasofbladeswithbulk-llermaterialssuchasepoxyorautobody
llers.Thispreventsareasofdamagefrombeinginspected.
(6)Donotpaintorbondooverareasofdamageonblades.Damagedareasmustberepairedin
accordancewithapprovedprocedurespriortoapplyingtheapprovedprotectivenish.
(7)Donotrunupenginesinareascontaininglooserocks,gravel,ordebris.Avoidquarteringrear
windsduringgroundrun-upbecausethisactivitycancausedamagingstresses.
(8)Donotpushorpullonpropellerbladeswhenmovingtheaircraftbyhand.Towbarsare
specicallydesignedforthisoperation.
(9)Neverinstallapropelleronanaircraftunlessitisamodelapprovedbytheaircrafttypecerticate
datasheet(TCDS)oranappropriatesupplementaltypecerticate(STC).Theservicehistory
mustbeproperlydocumented,andapre-installationinspectionmustindicatethatthepropeller
isairworthy.
2.LongTermStorageofPropeller
A.Thefollowingisapplicabletonewandoverhauledpropellerspriortoenteringservice(engine
installation)oratanytimethepropellerisremovedfromservice.Storagetimeisdeterminedfrom
dateofmanufacture,overhaul,orremovalfromaircraft.
(1)Storagemustbeinacleananddryenvironment,preferablyintheoriginalshippingcartonand
abovegroundlevel,tominimizeexposuretodirtandmoisture.
(2)Makesurethereisaprotectivecoveroverthepropellerhubmountingange.
(3)Ifthestorageperiodexceedsthreeyearsbeforeenteringserviceorreturningtoserviceperform
thefollowinginspection:
(a)Inspectexternallyfordamageandcorrosion.Inspectionmaybeaccomplishedbyan
A&Pmechanicorinternationalequivalent.Makealogbookentrystatingcompliancewith
thisinspectionrequirement.MakeareferencetotheMPC27andincludethecurrent
revisionlevelofthismanualwiththelogbookentrystatingcompliancewiththisinspection
requirement.

Ifcorrosionisfoundonthepropeller,refertothePropellerInspection/Check,
Limitationssectionforadditionalinspectionrequirements.
(4)Forallpropellermodels,ifthestorageperiodexceedssix(6)years,beforeenteringserviceor
returningtoservice,performthefollowinginspectionandpartsreplacement:
(a)Disassembleasnecessarytoreplaceallrubbersealsandlubricants.T otaldisassembly
isnotrequiredunlessevidenceofcorrosionwarrantsfurtherdisassembly.Thismustbe
accomplishedonlybyanFAAapprovedPart145PropellerRepairStationorinternational
equivalentinaccordancewiththepropelleroverhaulmanual.Makealogbookentrystating
compliancewiththisinspectionrequirement.MakeareferencetotheMPC27Owner/
OperatorInformationManualandincludethecurrentrevisionlevelofthismanualwiththe
logbookentrystatingcompliancewiththisinspectionrequirement.
(b)Inspectpartsfordamageandcorrosion,repair/replacepartsasnecessary.Workmustbe
accomplishedonlybyanFAAapprovedPart145PropellerRepairStationorinternational
equivalentinaccordancewiththeappropriatepropelleroverhaulmanual.Makealogbook
entrystatingcompliancewiththisinspectionrequirement.Makeareferencetothe
MPC27andincludethecurrentrevisionlevelofthismanualwiththelogbookentrystating
compliancewiththisinspectionrequirement.
3.DynamicBalance
NOTE:Someaircraftmanufacturersdonotapprovedynamicbalanceofthepropellerbecauseof
potentialcrackdamagetothespinnerbulkheadfromtheaddedbalanceweight.
