Why does the vertical/horizontal axis on my TFT Monitor only run for about 5 seconds and then stop?

  If the vertical or horizontal axis on your TFT Monitor only runs for about 5 seconds and then stops, it could be due to a loose encoder wiring connection. Check the axis encoder connection. It could also be a bad motor encoder. Interchange motor control boards to see if the problem persists with the same axis. If it does, replace the motor. Remove the encoder cover and check for a RED light just below the disk. If there is no light, the encoder is bad. Replace the motor.
