What to do if my Tokenworks Card Reader displays 'swipe again'?
    • L
      Leonard MartinezAug 1, 2025
If your Tokenworks Card Reader displays 'swipe again' when decoding magnetic cards, it could be due to several reasons. First, the magnetic stripe might be dirty, so try cleaning it with a soft cloth. The magnetic card itself could be damaged, so try using a different card. Misalignment during the swipe can also cause this issue; ensure the card is flush with the base of the card track while swiping. Experiment with different swiping speeds, directions, and card positions. Additionally, the magnetic read head might be dirty. Use a credit card reader cleaning card to clean it.

    • J
      Joanne CooperAug 6, 2025
If your Tokenworks Card Reader Palm device isn't powering on, the batteries may be low or dead. Connect the charger and wait 5 minutes. If the battery is fully depleted, it may take 5 minutes to turn on. Alternatively, the Palm computer might be hung up. Try a soft reset by gently pressing the reset hole on the back using the stylus. Check the Resetting the Handheld section.

How to fix Tokenworks Card Reader when bar code doesn't decode?
    • J
      Jennifer VazquezAug 10, 2025
If your Tokenworks Card Reader's bar code reader isn't decoding licenses and there's no beep, the bar code might be dirty. Examine it for scratches and dirt, and clean it with a soft cloth. If the bar code is damaged, try another license. Also, ensure the license isn't skewed or tilted during insertion. Reinsert and remove the license, making sure it goes in and comes out straight.

      Steven WoodardAug 14, 2025
If the CardVisor application isn't visible on the main screen of your Tokenworks Card Reader, check the category setting in the top right corner of the screen and select 'All' or 'Unfiled'. If that doesn't work, the application may have been deleted. Reinstall the CardVisor software using the Palm Desktop installation tool.

    • J
      Jacqueline MarshallAug 23, 2025
If license data doesn't display and swipe data is missing in the MemoPad application of your Tokenworks Card Reader, the MemoPad Category might be set to display only personal or business memos. Change the Category to 'All' or 'CardVisor' by tapping on the category in the upper right corner of the screen and selecting 'CardVisor' or 'All' from the pull-down menu. If a PIN code has been set, open the Security application and enter the PIN code.
