Checking the
T ransaxle-Fluid Level
Service Interval : Every 100 hours —Check the
transaxle-uid level.
1. Remove the ll plug on the transaxle ( Figure 54 ).
Note: The uid level should be even with the
bottom of the ll plug.

2. If the uid level is low , remove the ll plug and
add the specied uid until it runs out of the hole
( Figure 54 ).
3. Install the ll plug and torque it to 20 to 27 N∙m
(15 to 20 ft-lb).
Changing the T ransaxle
Fluid
Service Interval : Every 100 hours —Check the
transaxle for leaks.
Every 800 hours/Y early (whichever comes
rst) —Change the transaxle uid.
Fluid T ype: SAE 10W -30 (API service SJ or higher)
Fluid Capacity: 0.66 L (0.7 US qt)
1. Align a drain pan under the transaxle cover
( Figure 55 ).

2. Remove the bolts from the transaxle cover and
drain the uid completely ( Figure 55 ).
Note: Retain the transaxle cover and bolt.
3. Install the transaxle cover using the previously
removed bolts, and torque the bolts to 22 to 32
N∙m (16 to 24 ft-lb).
4. Remove the ll plug on the transaxle and ll the
transaxle with the specied uid until it runs out
of the ll hole ( Figure 54 ).
5. Install the ll plug and torque it to 20 to 27 N∙m
(15 to 20 ft-lb).
