Iftheradiatororengineishot,pressurizedhotcoolantcanescape
andcauseburns.
Donotopentheradiatorcapordraintheradiatorwhenthecoolant
ishot.Ensurethattheengineiscoolbeforeremovingthehigh
temperatureshutdownswitchfromtheengine.
3.Lowerthecoolantlevelintheengine.
4.Removethewireharnessconnectorfromthehightemperatureshutdown
switch,andremovetheswitchfromtheengine.

slowlyheattheoil(Figure156).

Theoilishotandcouldcausepersonalinjuryorre.
Handlethehotoilwithextremecare.
6.Checktheresistanceoftheswitchwithamultimeter(ohmssetting)astheoil
temperatureincreases.Thehigh-temperatureshutdownswitchisnormally
open.

shutdownswitchshouldclosebetween107°and113°C(225°and235°F).
B.OntheGroundsmaster3320(gasolineengine),thehightemperature
shutdownswitchshouldcloseatapproximately114°C(238°F).
7.Allowoiltocoolwhileobservingtemperature.
A.OntheGroundsmaster3280-D(dieselengine),thehightemperature
shutdownswitchshouldopenatapproximately104°C(219°F).
B.OntheGroundsmaster3320(gasolineengine),thehightemperature
shutdownswitchshouldopenatapproximately111°C(232°F).
8.Iftheswitchdoesnotmeetthespecications,replacetheswitch.
