RemovingtheFrontAxle
1.Parkmachineonalevelsurface,lowercuttingdeck(orimplement),shutoff
theengine,engageparkingbrakeandremovekeyfromthekeyswitch.
2.Removethecuttingdeck(orimplement);refertotheCuttingUnitOperator’s
Manual.
3.Topreventcontaminationofthehydraulicsystem,cleantransmissionand
frontaxle.
4.Drainoilfromfrontaxle;refertotheTractionUnitOperator’sManual.
5.Loosenhoseclamp(item21inFigure210)andpullhydraulichosefrom
ttingonaxle.
6.Removeliftarmsfrommachine;refertoLiftArms(page7–26).
7.Removefueltank;refertoRemovingtheFuelT ank(page3–10)orRemoving
theFuelT ank(page4–16).
8.Removecarrierbrackets(item14inFigure210)frommachineframe.
CAUTION
Whenremovingwheels,usecorrectblocks,hoistsandjacks.
Ensurethatthemachineisparkedonasolid,levelsurfacesuchas
aconcreteoor.Priortoraisingmachine,removeanyattachments
thatmayinterferewiththesafeandproperraisingofthemachine.
Alwayschockorblockwheels.Usejackstandsorsolidwood
blockstosupporttheraisedmachine.Ifthemachineisnotproperly
supportedbyblocksorjackstands,themachinemaymoveorfall,
whichmayresultinpersonalinjury.
9.Chockrearwheelsandjackupfrontofmachine;refertoJackingInstructions
(page1–6).Supportmachinewithjackstandsorsolidwoodblocks.Release
parkingbrake.
10.Removefrontwheel-lugnutsandpullfrontwheelsfromfrontaxle.
11.Removehydrostatictransmissionfrommachine;refertoRemovingthe
HydrostaticTransmission(page5–91).
