oiltothecrankcase.
ServicingtheAirCleaner
Note:Checktheltersmorefrequentlyifoperating
conditionsareextremelydustyorsandy.
RemovingtheAirFilter
ServiceInterval:Every250hours(moreoftenindirty
ordustyconditions).
1.Disengagetheblade-controlswitch(PTO),move
themotion-controlleverstotheNEUTRAL-LOCK
position,andengagetheparkingbrake.
2.Shutofftheengine,removethekey,andwait
forallmovingpartstostopbeforeleavingthe
operatingposition.
3.Releasethelatchesontheaircleanerandpull
theair-cleanercoverofftheair-cleanerbody
(Figure45).
4.Cleantheinsideoftheair-cleanercoverwith
compressedair.
5.Gentlyslidethelteroutoftheair-cleanerbody
(Figure45).
Note:Avoidknockingthelterintothesideof
thebody.
6.Inspectthelterfordamagebylookingintothe
lterwhileshiningabrightlightontheoutside
ofthelter.
Note:Holesinthelterappearasbrightspots.
Ifthelterisdamaged,discardit.

InstallingtheAirFilter
1.Ifinstallinganewlter,checkthelterfor
shippingdamage.Donotuseadamagedlter.
2.Carefullyslidethelterintothelterbody
(Figure46).
Note:Ensurethatitisfullyseatedbypushing
ontheouterrimofthelterwhileinstallingit.
Important:Donotpressonthesoftinside
areaofthelter.
3.Installtheair-cleanercoverandsecurethe
latches(Figure46).
