2.Installthespringdiskandbladebolt.Thespring
diskconemustbeinstalledtowardthebolthead
(Figure80).Torquethebladeboltto85-110ft-lb
(115-150N•m).

thelawnmowertothrowobjectsinthe
operator’sorbystander’sdirectionandresult
inseriousinjury.Also,contactwiththeblade
couldoccur.
•Neveroperatethelawnmowerunlessyou
installacoverplate,amulchplate,oragrass
chuteandcatcher.
•Makesurethegrassdeectorisinthedown
position.
1.Removethelocknut,bolt,springandspacerholding
thedeectortothepivotbrackets(Figure81).
Removethedamagedorworngrassdeector.
2.Placethespacerandspringontograssdeector.
PlacetheLendofspringbehinddeckedge.
Note:MakesuretheLendofthespringisinstalled
behindthedeckedgebeforeinstallingtheboltas
showninFigure81.
3.Installtheboltandnut.PlacetheJhookendofthe
springaroundthegrassdeector(Figure81).
Important:Thegrassdeectormustbeableto
lowerdownintoposition.Liftthedeectorup
totestthatitlowersintothefulldownposition.
