Ensurethattherampislongenoughsothattheanglewith
thegrounddoesnotexceed15degrees(Figure35).Onat
ground,thisrequiresaramptobeatleast4timesaslongas
theheightofthetrailerortruckbedtotheground.Asteeper
anglemaycausemowercomponentstogetcaughtasthe
machinemovesfromtheramptothetrailerortruck.Steeper
anglesmayalsocausethemachinetotiporlosecontrol.If
youareloadingthemachineonornearaslope,positionthe
trailerortrucksothatitisonthedownsideoftheslopeand
therampextendsuptheslope.Thisminimizestheramp
angle.
WARNING
Loadingamachineontoatrailerortruckincreases
thepossibilityofatip-overandcouldcauseserious
injuryordeath.
•Useextremecautionwhenoperatingamachine
onaramp.
•EnsurethattheROPSisintheuppositionand
usetheseatbeltwhenloadingorunloadingthe
machine.EnsurethattheROPSclearsthetop
ofanenclosedtrailer.
•Useonlyafull-widthramp;donotuseindividual
rampsforeachsideofthemachine.
•Donotexceeda15-degreeanglebetweenthe
rampandthegroundorbetweentherampand
thetrailerortruck.
•Ensurethatthelengthoframpisatleast4times
aslongastheheightofthetrailerortruckbedto
theground.Thisensuresthatrampangledoes
notexceed15degreesonatground.
•Backthemachineuptherampanddriveit
forwarddowntheramp.
•Avoidsuddenaccelerationordecelerationwhile
drivingthemachineonarampasthiscould
causealossofcontroloratip-over.
