Linkage
Locatedoneithersideofthefueltank,belowtheseatarethe
pump-controllinkages.Rotatingthepumplinkagewitha
1/2inchwrenchallowsne-tuningadjustmentssothatthe
machinedoesnotmoveinneutral.Anyadjustmentsshould
bemadeforneutralpositioningonly.
WARNING
Theenginemustberunningandthedrivewheels
mustbeturningsothatthemotion-control
adjustmentcanbeperformed.Contactwithmoving
partsorhotsurfacesmaycausepersonalinjury.
Keepngers,hands,andclothingclearofrotating
componentsandhotsurfaces.
1.Priortostartingtheengine,pushthedeck-liftpedal
andremovetheheight-of-cutpin.Lowerthedeckto
theground.
2.Raisetherearofmachineupandsupportitwithjack
stands(orequivalentsupport)justhighenoughto
allowthedrivewheelstoturnfreely.
3.Removetheelectricalconnectionfromtheseatsafety
switch,locatedunderthebottomcushionoftheseat.
Note:Theswitchisapartoftheseatassembly.
4.Temporarilyinstallajumperwireacrosstheterminals
intheconnectorofthemainwiringharness.
5.Starttheengine.
Note:Thebrakemustbeengagedandthe
motion-controlleversmustbeouttostartthe
engine.Theoperatordoesnothavetobeinthe
seatbecauseofthejumperwirebeingused.Run
theengineatfullthrottleandreleasethebrake.
6.Runthemachineatleast5minuteswiththe
motion-controlleversatfullforwardspeedtobringthe
hydraulicoiluptooperatingtemperature.
Note:Themotion-controlleverneedstobeinneutral
whilemakinganynecessaryadjustments.
7.Bringthemotion-controlleversintotheneutral
position.
8.Adjustthepump-controlrodlengthsbyrotatingthe
doublenutsontherodintheappropriatedirection
untilthewheelsslightlycreepinreverse(Figure79).

9.Movethemotion-controlleverstothereverseposition,
andwhileapplyingslightpressuretothelever,allow
thereverseindicatorspringstobringtheleversback
toneutral.
Note:Thewheelsmuststopturningorslightlycreep
inreverse.
10.Shutoffthemachine.Removethejumperwirefrom
wireharnessandplugtheconnectorintotheseat
switch.
11.Removethejackstands.
12.Raisethedeckandinstalltheheight-of-cutpin.
13.Checkthatthemachinedoesnotcreepinneutralwith
theparkbrakesdisengaged.
