1.Checkandcleancorrosionfromthebatteryterminals
beforejump-starting.Ensurethattheconnectionsare
tight.
CAUTION
Corrosionorlooseconnectionscancause
unwantedelectricalvoltagespikesatanytime
duringthejump-startingprocedure.
Donotattempttojump-startthemachine
withlooseorcorrodedbatteryterminals,or
damagetotheengineorEFImayoccur.
DANGER
Jump-startingaweakbatterythatiscracked,
frozen,orhasalowelectrolyteleveloran
open/shortedbatterycellcancausean
explosion,resultinginseriouspersonalinjury.
Donotjump-startaweakbatteryifthese
conditionsexist.
2.Makesurethattheboosterbatteryisagoodandfully
chargedlead-acidbatteryat12.6Vorgreater.
Note:Useproperlysizedjumpercableswithshort
lengthstoreducevoltagedropbetweensystems.Make
surethatthecablesarecolorcodedorlabeledforthe
correctpolarity.
CAUTION
Connectingthejumpercablesincorrectly
(wrongpolarity)canimmediatelydamagethe
EFIsystem.
Becertainofbatteryterminalpolarityand
jumpercablepolaritywhenconnectingthe
batteries.

Batteriescontainacidandproduceexplosive
