operatetheenginewithbothairltersandthe
coverinstalled.
1.Ifinstallingnewlters,checkeachlterfor
shippingdamage.
Note:Donotuseadamagedlter.
2.Ifthesecondarylterisbeingreplaced,carefully
slideitintothelterbody(Figure52).
3.Carefullyslidetheprimarylteroverthe
secondarylter(Figure52).
4.Ensurethatitisfullyseatedbypushingonthe
outerrimofthelterwhileinstallingit.
Important:Donotpressonthesoftinside
areaofthelter.
5.Installtheair-cleanercoverwiththebreathercap
down,androtatesothattheretainingclamps
lockthecoverinplace(Figure52).

OilType:Detergentoil(APIserviceSG,SH,SJ,or
higher)
OilCapacity:withalterchange,1.9L(64oz);with
nolterchange,1.7L(57oz)
Viscosity:Seethetablebelow.

1.Disengagetheblade-controlswitch(PTO),move
themotion-controlleverstotheNEUTRAL-LOCK
position,andengagetheparkingbrake.
2.Shutofftheengine,removethekey,andwait
forallmovingpartstostopbeforeleavingthe
operatingposition(Figure54).
