1.Disengagetheblade-controlswitch(PTO),movethe
motioncontrolleverstotheneutral-lockedposition,
andsettheparkingbrake.
2.Stoptheengine,removethekey,andwaitforallmoving
partstostopbeforeleavingtheoperatingposition.
3.Removethedustcapfromthecasterandtightenthe
locknut(Figure60).
4.Tightenthelocknutuntilthespringwashersareat,
andthenbackoffa1/4turntoproperlysetthepreload
onthebearings(Figure60).
Important:Makesurespringwashersare
installedcorrectlyasshowninFigure60.

Thecasterwheelsrotateonarollerbearingsupportedbya
spannerbushing.Ifthebearingiskeptwelllubricated,wear
willbeminimal.Failuretokeepthebearingwelllubricated
willcauserapidwear.Awobblycasterwheelusuallyindicates
awornbearing.
