Procedures
Beforeopeninganyofthecovers,stoptheengine,removethe
key,andallowtheenginetocool.
Important:Thefastenersonthecoversofthismachine
aredesignedtoremainonthecoverafterremoval.
Loosenallofthefastenersoneachcoverafewturnsso
thatthecoverisloosebutstillattached,thengoback
andloosenthemuntilthecovercomesfree.Thiswill
preventyoufromaccidentallystrippingtheboltsfree
oftheretainers.
RemovingtheCoverPlate
1.Lowertheboom,stoptheengine,andremovethekey.
WARNING
Thereisabeltunderthecoverthatismoving
whenthemachineisrunningandcancatch
ngers,hands,loosehair,andclothing,
causingseriousinjury,amputation,ordeath.
Alwaysstoptheengineandwaitforallmoving
partstostopbeforeremovingthecover.
2.Loosentheboltattherearofthecoverplate.
3.Loosenthe3boltssecuringthecoverplatetothe
framesequentiallyuntilthecoverisloose(Figure25).

InstallingtheCoverPlate
1.Lowertheboom,stoptheengine,andremovethekey.
2.Slidethecoverplateintoplaceandsecureitwiththe3
boltsyouloosenedpreviously(Figure25).
RemovingtheBottomShield
1.Lowertheboom,stoptheengine,andremovethekey.
2.Loosenthe2boltssecuringthebottomshield
sequentiallyuntiltheshieldisfree(Figure26).

2.Slidethebottomshieldintothemachinesothatitrests

ensurethatitrestsonthefronttabs.
3.Securetheshieldwiththeboltsyouloosened
previously.
