Special Tools
Order special tools from your Toro Distributor. Some
tools may also be available from a local supplier.
Digital Multimeter
The d igital multimeter can test electrical components
and circuits for current (amps), resistance ( ohms) or
voltage. Obtain this tool locally.
NOTE: Toro recommends the use of a DIGITAL Volt--
Ohm--Amp multimeter when testing electrical circuits.
The high impedance (internal resistance) of a digital me-
ter in the voltage mode will make sure that excess cur-
rent is not allowed through the meter. This excess
current can cause damage to circuits not designed to
carry it.

Dielectric Gel
Dielectric gel should be used to prevent corrosion of con-
nection terminals. To ensure complete coating of termi-
nals, liberally apply gel to both component and wire
harness connector, plug connector to component, un-
plug connector, reapply gel to both surfaces and recon-
nect harness c onnector to component. Connectors
should be thoroughly packed with gel for effective re-
sults.
