Replacing the Black (K) toner cartridge
• When you want to replace a cartridge before the Replace toner cartridge symbol blinks, see the proce-
dure of “Replacing the Toner Cartridge” in Chapter 3 SETTING ITEMS (USER) in the User Functions
Guide.
• When the Black toner cartridge becomes empty, copying and printing can no longer be performed.

Open the front cover.

While pushing on the latch, lower the car-
tridge holder toward you.

Pull the cartridge out carefully.
• If you cannot pull it straight out, pull it out rotating it clockwise.
If it cannot be pulled out, close the front cover, turn the power OFF
and then ON again. When “Install new Black toner cartridge”
appears, start the procedure again from step 1.
Never attempt to incinerate toner cartridges. This could cause an
explosion. Do not dispose of used toner cartridges. Contact your
service representative.
