Retrieval of printer configuration has failed.
When “Retrieval of printer configuration failed” is displayed while [Printer properties] of the printer is being accessed,
the printer driver cannot communicate with the equipment. Take the appropriate actions by following the checklist
below.
The [Device Settings] tab is grayed out and their settings cannot be changed.
When this has occurred, it is necessary to have a user, who has the privilege to change the printer driver setting, log
into the computer. Log into with Administrator.
Printing cannot be performed. (Network connection problems)
When this has occurred, take the appropriate actions by following the checklist below.
SMB printing has failed.
When an attempt is made to print a document using an SMB connection, the job cannot be printed and such messages
continuously appear as “No more connections can be made to this remote computer” or “Your file could not be
printed due to an error”. If Windows 8.1, Windows 10 or Windows Server 2012 or later can be used as the print server,
printing via the Windows Print Server is recommended. If the Windows Print Server cannot be used in your network,
use LPR print instead.
